Married since 1974 to Marjie Stephens (Albert Eistein HS ('72), Silver Spring MD) whom I met in Washington. She is a major crimes forensic investigator/supervisor (CSI). petition. NCAA Div. 1 Baseball Umpire and Commissioner of Div 1AA Football Officals; Div 1 Replay Official in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Selected to work the post season '06 Texas Bowl in Houston, TX. In '07 the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. In '09 the ACC Championship in Tampa, FL. In 1999, I was as a referee/actor in the movie "Any Given Sunday" filmed in the Orange Bowl, directed by Oliver Stone, starring: Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Jim Brown, LL Cool J, Ann Margret, and Charlton Heston. Initially, I was initially hired as a "special talent extra" but later signed a Warner Bros. contract when Oliver Stone gave me scripted lines in some of the football scenes. While the majority of my "acting" ended up on the cutting room floor - I was nevertheless, listed in the film's credits, get residual checks, and entitled to a Screen Actors Guild card. (Google search - "Any Given Sunday" cast "William Hanlon"). Took the Silver in '06/07/08 Florida Senior Games-Shot Put competition. In '08 I joined the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary now part of the US Department of Homeland Security. Flotilla 07-03-01 CG Station-Ft. Lauderdale. Present Team Coast Guard assignments and qualifications include: CG Instructor and surface Search & Rescue and Air Operations. As part of CG Aux activities I was tasked with a Public Affairs assignment. In 2009, I arranged for NFL Great Dan Marino to participate in the production of some CG Public Service Announcements which were distributed nationally. For those efforts I was presented the CG Aux National 1st place Public Affairs award and subsequently appointed as an Assistant District Staff Officer. Team Coast provides excellent opportunities for volunteers to give back to the community and would encourage all to consider the possibilities. See e-link for more info. join.cgaux.org
